On Wednesday 12 November Amlin hosted the first London-based event to introduce and discuss its systemic risk research project in more detail with leading figures from the insurance market

A key announcement made at the conference was the establishment of an Industry Working Party on the systemic risk of modelling. “We are keen to bring together the ‘best minds’ in the business with the ‘best minds’ in academia, in order to tackle the complex and significant issue of systemic risk of modelling,” said JB Crozet, Head of Underwriting Modelling.

· The Working Party is a collaboration forum, composed of academic researchers and industry practitioners from any background/organisation;

· It is specifically focused on practical solutions for our industry, with the initial objective to design a ‘Risk Scorecard for the Systemic Risk of Modelling’ (i.e. a practical way to measure the amount of systemic risk of modelling within an organisation, leveraging the Amlin-FHI Research Findings);

· The result of this collaborative research will be publicly available in white papers published by the members of the Working Party.

The announcement was met with great interest and over 15 organisations have already registered an interest in joining.
